Located in a dense suburban site, the Residences in Mount Penteli, deal with the duality of two single family homes, appearing as one palazzo. As a response to the broken up urban fabric of suburban Athens and Penteli specifically, the residences create a unified civic gesture, standing out of the context through classical tropes of architecture, refined to their most minimal expression. The facade is organized by large circular pilasters, in two orders: one large, one small. The small ones define the opening within each residence while the large ones frame the two residences themselves. The pilasters have a triple function. They conceal all EMP systems, provide shading in the early morning and late afternoon and privacy between the balconies and terraces.

The two residences are organized in two levels, around a front yard and a backyard, mirroring their layouts in the middle. At the ground level the living room and kitchen connect to the outdoor, while on the second the bedrooms are arranged along the building’s facade, with beautiful views towards the Athenian plateau.
